Although I (sadly) learned very little Korean during our two years living in Seoul, even still, the sound of the language itself became beautiful to me. If I was one of those people who listened to soothing sounds to fall asleep, I’d happily drift off listening to the Korean nightly news! Now that we live in Southeast Asia and are learning Thai, I have been hoping for that same special connection with the language here. Thai is very different than the language sounds I’m used to and I have been looking forward to the day when it will sound beautiful and comforting to me.

Yesterday I had that experience for the first time.
